Is it worse to be called a liar or a fool?

Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go right? Well, Gov. Brownback has been having a lot of those lately.

And today is no different.

I opened my copy of the Kansas City Star and read the headline: “Governor Sam Brownback and his staff must stop trying to fool Kansans on tax cuts.” The editorial is a short but devastating takedown of Brownback’s failed economic experiment.

You can read the editorial HERE.

How did we get here? How did we get to a place where the Salina Journal recently referred to Gov. Brownback as “Brownbroke”? How did we get to a place where every credible economic expert agrees that we can’t afford more of Brownback’s tax policies?

Perhaps we got here because the governor and his deep-pocketed financial backers have spent millions over the past few weeks trying to convince us that his failed experiment is, in fact, working.

But we know the Brownback experiment has failed.

Is it better to be a liar or a fool? I look forward to the day when our governor is neither.

Sincerely,

Ryan Wright, executive director
